Highlights of this week:
1) I got my A clarinets after having to search the neighborhood for them.
2) Work has been crazy fun (that's not new though...haha)
3) Frank's last day was Saturday (that was sad).
4) Cheryl Glitz ROCKS.
5) I finished my semi-formal scrapbook and it makes me want to go back to school NOW.
6) I didn't practice today. Oops.
7) I have currently played the same CD over about five times since last time (Ben Folds - Rockin' the Suburbs)...damn its good.
Work at 2, big surprise. I actually have two days off this week, but only because I requested it because....

I love fireworks. They make me feel so warm inside :).
Work today was a blast, even though it was a holiday. Andrew, Karen, Tim, and all my other favorite people were working.
Tomorrow will be another great day...2 to 10:30...bookkeeper :).

I got to work Books last night for the first time since winter break, so I was SO HAPPY. Lia and I switched jobs because she said she was sick of being responsible for all the money and the cashiers that were over and short. As much as I love books, I forgot how stressful it really is.
Today I cancelled my lesson because I'm way to exhausted to function in any normal way while playing my clarinet, so I'll be sitting around, going swimming, and relaxing ALL DAY. Thank gosh...:). |

So I'm working from tomorrow afternoon at 3:15 to 4:30 am the next morning, meaning Monday. I'm really praying that I will be able to survive it. It's gonna be crazy...but it will mean an amazing paycheck the next week :).
I went driving with George today, and we did a ton of parallel parking. It actually isn't as bad as I thought it would be, and I caught on pretty quickly. I just hope I don't freak out next Thursday when I have to take the test :). I went driving with Frank the day before, and that was an experience :). Frank got a job at the Headquarters for Kings in the Loss Prevention department (meaning he'll be a security guy who fires bad employees...haha), which is great for him. Kings definitely will not be the same without him. He leaves on July 11th, and as of right now, they have no one to take his place, so it looks like I'll be back to being a bookkeeper for the rest of the summer, thank gosh. If they don't get someone by the time I go back to school, I'm going to have to come back every weekend for a little while and work on Lia's night off. I guess it won't be bad, as long as I don't get super busy with school.
I miss all my friends :(. I especially miss talking to Cheryl Glitz on the internet every morning.

So this weekend was AMAZING. On Saturday, Cheryl came to Kings after going to camp and we ordered dinner and had massive amounts of ice cream with my Kings friends :). Then we came back here, Cheryl spent the night, and we made plans to go to the mall in the morning. Dave was working at Build A Bear, so we stopped by to see him in between buying cute skirts and amazing shoes (SO CHEAP!). Then we called Steve, and all four of us met up outside of Macy's for a little while. It was great to be with everyone together. I've seen a lot of my friends individually this summer, but it's been really hard to get a group together. I hadn't even seen Steve since the graduation band, so that was awesome.
I had work today, and the highlight was driving Frank's beautiful car home. He's taking me out driving on Friday to get more practice for my test, which is awesome of him! I love all my amazing Kings friends. I don't know what I would do in the summer without you!
My driving test is a week from this Thursday...10 DAYS! FINALLY! Now its time for bed...its been a long day :). |

My sister and I stayed up until about 12:30 last night (even though I was exhausted) looking up good music from years ago. It was great. Then we both had the brilliant idea to look around for my old mixes of good 90's music, and I ripped a ton of it on to my computer. I found the most random stuff. Some of my mixes had techno music right next to some random rock song. I even have an Eiffel 65 CD...anyone remember them?! What happened to all the GOOD music?! |

I have a car...yup, that's right, I HAVE A CAR. It is absolutely beautiful, and silver, and I am IN LOVE WITH MY CAR. Now I just need a license :).
I'm working 47 hours this week...Kings suicide, that is what that is. There's no help because all the kids have graduation and a few of the full-timers have vacation, so I get to do all the work. My paycheck will be EXTRA special next Thursday though :).
My music room is in the process of being finished. I got the bookcase set up and all the books and things put in it. My "reed table" is set up with a cute stool next to it. I even put up the keyboard, but I still need to find a power plug.
I'm working tomorrow again from 2 to 10:30, which will be my ninth straight day in a row. Wednesday is my day off, but I've got my lesson (hopefully) and an MENC meeting, so it will be busy anyways.
And this weekend...well, we'll see about this weekend. BEDMINSTER WILL NEVER BE THE SAME...Cheryl Glitz and Amy Marie in the SAME TOWN for an entire weekend...:)... |

I really don't want this journal to become a daily habit this summer, and it hopefully won't once I'm able to practice again. I just got home from an MENC meeting that was at Kim's new apartment in Morrisville, PA (down near TCNJ). Since we had the meeting so close to HAMILTON, we just had to stop to see Cheryl for a few minutes, which was amazing! I've definitely missed human contact with my friends from school. IM isn't enough ;).
HOWEVER...I love Kings even more after today. Good times creating havoc on register 8. Monica stopped by in the morning, so it was great to see her. It even gave me an excuse to go hang around by the deli department...fun, fun, fun.
Well, I'm up early tomorrow for a checkup with the oral surgeon and then going to work...after I get my uniform back...oops. |

I was really not looking forward to this summer because I just didn't want to leave school. Honestly though, I'm so happy its summer! I always forget how wonderful it is to work with amazing people, be crazy, and make the new cashiers do all the work when I'm not at Kings. This summer really has started to become great, mostly because I'm still there. I forgot how wonderful it was to have Andrew around, to throw huge balls around with Frank while the manager's back is turned, and to make random annoucements like "apple pie" on the loudspeaker with Todd. Honestly, I couldn't ask for a better job. Except for the rude customers that come in sometimes (Raspberry Lady!), its wonderful! Its great to be a bookkeeper, even when I'm ringing on register. I still get all the benefits, like eating dinner behind the desk with Frank and pigging out on the ice cream we bought together. OOO! And the junk food drawer that we keep!
Today was great. Unfortunately, I had to ring, which was not the best, but Karen still let me get off of register now and then. Even Lauren, my manager, and I have a blast together. Saturdays are great...Lauren, Lia, and I close the store, and we order Italian food and get ice cream :). Last week it was definitely Coke Floats and Chicken Parm for me. It sucks that I forgot to take this Saturday off to go to the shore with everyone, but honestly, I'll be with my friends at Kings...Lauren & Lia are closing of course, and we're going to order out again (I'm sure it will be Italian...it always is!). Next week I'm even working over night from Monday to Tuesday with Lauren to clean the registers for inspection. That should be fun because Tim will be there all night, and he'll play some crazy music on the loudspeakers, and we'll just have a blast.
To make a long story short...I love my job :). |

I was thinking about it today, and I am so incredibly blessed with all that I have right now. Two years ago, my life was completely different. But now...now I'm just so incredibly lucky with all that surrounds me. I have an incredible, complete family: something that I've never had. I have the most amazing best friend that a girl could ask for, and numerous other ones that I love to death. I'm attending an incredible school, I'm pursuing my passion, and I will be successful in the future...I know that. I've got a great summer job that I wouldn't trade for the world with the most amazing people that I know. I am so incredibly blessed its amazing. I can't complain.
But then why, why is there still something that isn't there? Why do I still feel cheated and lost sometimes? How can I feel this way even though I am so lucky? Maybe its just an emotional day, but its just so true...and I really can't explain it completely. |

Got my wisdom teeth pulled out today. All four of them. I wasn't nervous for anything except for being put under, not even the pain. With my last surgery, that was the only thing that crossed my mind. I was only afriad of waking up. Well, obviously, that wasn't a problem this time, and my mouth didn't even swell up! I'm not black and blue, I'm not puffy, and it doesn't even hurt. Maybe I'll go back to work a day early and work on Sunday. That would be awesome because I make more money on Sundays :).

As a result of working 11 hours yesterday, I can barely function, so unfortunately, I had to cancel my lesson with Mr. McKinney. It really sucks because I won't have one for about three weeks because of my wisdom teeth getting pulled, but I really need to relax today. It is my first day off in an entire week!
So today I'm going to watch lots of TV, talk to Cheryl while she is at work, and do a lot nothing. I'll leave you with a Cheryl moment:

I got up early this morning to say goodbye to my aunt and practice before work at 11:30. So after finishing an hour of wonderful practicing, I decided to start researching my new Buffet R13 A Clarinet :). It looks like I'm going to buy it from Woodwind & Brasswind because they not only have the best price, but they will also ship me three clarinets to try. I think I'm going to do this in a few weeks, right after I'm back to practicing after I get my wisdom teeth pulled. Even though the silver keys are more expensive, I'm definitely going to go with those because that is what my Bb is, and I think it would just be BEAUTIFUL to have a set of silver plated R13s. WOOHOO...so exciting. Now I just have to work more at Kings *yea, is that possible?!* so I can replenish my bank account...
I'm definitely a little bit happier today :). |
